Athletic Participation

Students who wish to participate in Athletics should complete all Athletic Paperwork prior to athletic participation or try outs.

Bright Futures Scholarship

The Bright Futures Scholarship is a scholarship program in the state of Florida that is awarded as one of three scholarships: Florida Academic Scholars (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) and the Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV). Visit for eligibility requirements.

Seniors may apply for the Bright Futures Scholarship beginning December 1 of their senior year. Visit to apply.

Bus Schedule

College Entrance Tests

The ACT and SAT are often used by colleges and universities in order to help determine acceptance. Okaloosa Schools encourage students to take one or both of these tests.

Community Service

Students hoping to qualify for the Bright Futures Scholarships are required to earn community service hours for eligibility.

Students must use the Community Service Form to record their hours. Community service hours must be turned in to the Guidance Office. Seniors must turn in all community service hours prior to the 2nd semester of their senior year.

Dual Enrollment

Students interested in Dual Enrollment courses at Northwest Florida State College must complete the Dual Enrollment Registration Form.

Food Service Menu

Okaloosa Schools provide an online, up-to-date Food Service Menu and as well as a free mobile app called “School Lunch by Nutrislice” for both iPhone and Android.


Food Service Prices

School Food Service meal prices for the 2015 – 2016 school year will be:

  • Student Breakfast $1.80
  • Student Lunch $2.55
  • Reduced Breakfast $0.30
  • Reduced Lunch $0.40
  • Milk $0.65

Free and Reduced Food Service

Okaloosa Schools offer free and reduced lunch to students who qualify. Applications can be completed online at

Grades Online

Okaloosa Schools offer students and parents access to Grades online through Parent Portal.


The Okaloosa School District recently released an app that includes breaking news and access to student grades. The app is available for Android or Apple products. Search iOCSD in the App Store or click the link to download the Apple App or Android App.

Locker Sales

Lockers are $5.00 per year. Lockers will be on sale before school and during lunches beginning the first day of school.

Payment should be cash or check only. Checks must be written for the exact amount. Checks must also be written separately. For example, if you are also purchasing a Parking permits you must have separate checks for the Locker and Parking permits.

Military and Family Life Counselors

Okaloosa Schools now include Military and Family Life Counselors at each school. MFLC counselors provide brief, non-medical counseling to both students and his/her family.

Online Courses

All students entering 9th grade in the 2011-2012 school year or thereafter are required to complete an online course prior to graduation. Online courses can be completed in class at CHS through an eligible course (see the Registration Guide) or online through Okaloosa Online.

Students wanting to take an online course through Okaloosa Online must submit proof of registration to Guidance before they will be approved to take the course.

Parking Permits

Parking permits are required for students who will be parking on campus. Parking permits are $20.00. Parking permits will be on sale before or after school beginning the first day of school. Students must show a valid Driver’s license, proof of Insurance and know their tag number prior to purchasing a Parking permit.

Payment should be cash or check only. Checks must be written for the exact amount. Checks must also be written separately. For example, if you are also purchasing a Locker you must have separate checks for the Parking permits and Locker.

Remind 101

Remind 101 is a free service that allows students and parents to subscribe via text message or email in order to receive information from the Guidance department about colleges on campus, scholarships, registration, ACT/SAT information, etc. To join, text @chsguide to (207) 358-6276 or email

Student Acceptable Use

Students and parents should thoroughly read the Okaloosa County Computer and Internet Rules of Acceptable Use and must agree to the Acceptable Use and Electronic Resources Contracts prior to the students participation on a computer, device or the Internet.
