Health Occupations Students of America
HOSA is a student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. Through this national organization, we attend bimonthly meetings, practice skills, and perform community service. Competition is a big part of HOSA. We are part of Region 1 Florida HOSA and we first compete against other HOSA students in Region 1. First, second and third place regional winners compete against other regional winners at state competition. First, second and third place state winners advance on to nationals. HOSA students are encouraged to perform a minimum of 75 hours of community service and some of the community service activities we participate in include sponsoring blood drives, volunteering with the Hospice Journaling program, and assessing blood pressures at the Chamber of Commerce Health Fair. To be in HOSA you have to be a Health Occupations Education or SSTRIDE student.

There are HOSA meetings every Monday in Room 346.
