2 CHS technology teachers nominated for PHF Teams Teacher Award

February 26, 2016 | Deanna Fincham

There were 14 teachers total, but only 9 of the teachers nominated for Paul HSU Foundation Teaching Excellence Awards in Math and Science were Crestview High School teachers. This article is part 3 in a series of articles about all 9 of the CHS teachers who were nominated. The technology teachers who were nominated are Yolanda Porter and Shanna Suggs.

One of Ms. Porters students said “I love Ms. Porter. She is an amazing teacher her class is so fun I wish I had it the whole school day, then maybe I’d like school more!” She also said this of why Ms. Porter deserved to win, “I think she should win because she loves all her kids like her own she talks to us like her own. She doesn’t play around with us she puts us in our place when we need to be put in our place, like she would her own child! I just hope she wins.”

As a student of Mrs. Suggs myself I think she deserves to win because she helps us out a lot. Anytime we raise our hand she comes right to us and answers or helps us with whatever we need. She makes sure failure isn’t an option in her class. She deserves this award, because she works really, really hard! She loves her job as much as any other teacher here, but she also loves what she does working with technology and teaching others about technology!
