Crestview beats Booker T. Washington in Boys Varsity Basketball State Playoffs

February 16th 2017, the Crestview High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team played a hard game against Booker T. Washington from Pensacola. The first shot of the game was shot by Rusty Moorer, earning Crestview 2 points. Throughout the first quarter, Crestview came out strong and with 8.5 seconds left, Sam Johnson was fouled, earning 2 free throws  getting Crestview up to 15. Ending the first quarter with a lead of 4, the score being 15-11.

The second quarter began, Sam Johnson started it off by shooting the ball and earning the Bulldogs 2 more points, giving them a 6 point lead. Throughout the second quarter each team was making shots left and right, but when it ended the Bulldogs were still in the lead, the score being 22-19.

After a half time performance by the CHS Dazzlers, the 3rd quarter began with #5 on Booker T Washington’s team, the Wildcats, shooting the ball and making it. After half time it seemed like the Wildcats got their act together, with 5 minutes and 36 seconds of the game left the Wildcats were up by 7. That was their first big lead of the game. At the end of the 3rd quarter the Wildcats were winning with a 2 point lead.

In the beginning of the 4th quarter Rusty Moorer started it off with a shot and earned CHS 3 more points. Both teams were going back and forth making shot after shot. With 5 minutes and 15 seconds left of the game it was tied 40-40. The Bulldogs came on strong with a 3 pointer, however the Wildcats were right behind them and shot the ball earning 2 points. Making the score 43-42. With 39 seconds left, CHS was only up by 2. Sam Johnson was fouled again, earning CHS two free throws and only making one. The game was getting more intense, and Rusty Moorer was fouled earning two more free throws and making both. With less than 2 seconds left in the game the Wildcats were fouled, earning them two free throws, making both, earning an extra two points. Making the final score 54-51. CHS took the win.
