CHS Paints the School Purple

On Friday, April 22nd Crestview High School hosted Relay for Life from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next morning. Relay for Life is an event to raise money for cancer patients and research to cure it.

Despite the rain and lightning residents of Crestview still showed up to support the cause. Sponsors set up booths that sold refreshments, such as hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue, snow cones, popcorn, and funnel cake, and had games set up to raise money and help the participants throughout the night.

Along with live performances, there was a luminary for those who battled cancer and could not make it to the event or for those who had passed on. These symbols were placed around the track and stayed lit throughout the entire evening. Wooden boards were also set up where relay participants could write the names of loved ones lost or those who were still fighting.

Even though the weather conditions remained mostly unfavorable, the spirit of the crowd could not be fazed resulting in another successful Relay for Life.
