CHS Offers New Class

November 6, 2015 | Joshua Nelson

JAG (Jobs for American Grads) is an elective at Crestview High School. The main objective of the class is to prepare students for life outside high school.

Some of the subjects the class covers are management skills, employment skills, interviews, resumes, job markets, ironing clothes, laundry, changing a tire, real world problems, filing for a loan, paying bills, money management time and many other things like this. They also do community service and fundraisers to help the class and the city of Crestview.

This class is nationally funded, and initiated and installed by the government. CHS was chosen from a large number of schools to do this program and it is quickly growing. CHS started this class last year, 2014. So far, the class has grown from 35 to 75 students.

JAG is open to 9th through 12th grade students who are military dependents; their parents must be active or retired military. Interested students can sign up next year during registration.
