Art Club Enriches CHS

October 18, 2016 | Kaleigh O'Neill

Art Club is a major part of Crestview High School, and has been for many years. Over the years it has grown tremendously, and Principal Day hopes for it to be even larger.

The Art Club was created to provide additional enrichment opportunities to Crestview High School students while also increasing leadership skills, gaining self-awareness, and developing an understanding of personal responsibility to community development in the arts. The Crestview High School Art Club seeks to provide inspiration and enrichment opportunities for students who have demonstrated interest in the visual arts.

CHS Art Club strives to provide an environment in which students may express their creativity in new and exciting ways. There will be further opportunity to build self esteem, develop leadership skills, and foster community service. Art Club members help organize and participate in the Annual Crestview High School Art Show along with other school activities and events

Art Club meetings are on Tuesdays and Fridays in Lori Phillips room 350, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

Currently, Art Club is hosting an art project for the “Junie B. Jones” musical in late November. Art Club will also be hosting a Christmas Art Contest during the second week of December.
